Despite its small size, Eppingen is a town rich in history and culture. It boasts a beautiful old town full of half-timbered houses, much like what you'd find in parts of rural England. Yet the culture, food, and of course, the language are quintessentially German.
Eppingen is well connected by road and rail. Stuttgart Airport is the nearest major airport, roughly 70 km away and accessible via the A81 and A6 motorway. Alternatively, you can take a train from the airport to Eppingen, changing at Stuttgart's main railway station.
One of the most important things to know: Germans drive on the right, in contrast to the UK. Be careful at intersections, roundabouts and when turning. It may take a while to adjust, but you'll soon get used to it.

Eppingen is famous for its Fachwerkpfad (Half-timbered route), highlighting over 40 half-timbered houses. The Alte Universität, a renaissance building from the 16th century, and the Pfeifferturm, a watchtower offering panoramic views over the town, are must-sees too.
For nature lovers, the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park is a short drive away.
Eppingen falls under a temperate seasonal climate. The warmest months are July and August. To enjoy outdoor activities, consider visiting between May and September when the temperatures are congenial.
In Germany, the currency used is the Euro (€). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, but it's not unusual for small cafes or shops to only accept cash. Unlike in the UK, shops in Germany are generally closed on Sundays.
