Compact cars are perfect for city driving and are easy to park in crowded areas. However, if you're planning on exploring the countryside, a full-size car or even an SUV would be more suitable for comfort and ease of driving.
Remember, unlike the UK, Poland drives on the right-hand side of the road. Speed limits are strictly enforced and expressed in kilometres per hour (km/h) rather than miles per hour (mph). Warsaw's city centre is a 'paid parking zone'. You are required to buy a parking ticket from roadside machines.
You will find petrol stations close to the airport and scattered across the city. Take note that in Poland, petrol is known as "benzyna", diesel as "olej napędowy" and LPG as "gaz".
From Warsaw, you have easy access to other magnificent Polish cities. Lodz, known as the 'Polish Manchester', is just 135 km away. Lublin, the city by the river Bystrzyca, is reachable in under three hours. Poland’s picturesque landscapes and cultural heritage are yours to discover.
Picking up your rental car at Warsaw Airport gives you the freedom to explore Poland at your own pace. Remember to adhere to the local driving rules and you're guaranteed a fantastic journey. Happy travelling!
