Here, for example, small niches in the rock as well as sunbathing areas surrounded by stones provide a certain privacy. In addition, Playa del Ingles is the most famous natural beach that La Gomera has to offer. In addition, here you can also find the most diverse ships that make the most adventurous trips across the sea, along the beautiful coast of La Gomera. For example, it is possible to book a whale watching trip or a tour to the Los Organos. But not only the sea, but Vueltas itself is worth more than just a look. The many stairways and winding streets of the village exude a rustic charm that you can’t escape. Here, for example, it is quite wonderful to take a break in one of the various gastronomic establishments. But also the nightlife on site is not to be despised. Thus, in the local bars it is possible without further ado to enjoy a wide variety of drinks. A very attractive excursion destination, which can be reached easily and quickly by hired car, is the famous fruit orchard Argayall in La Gomera. This is a magnificent garden with a wide variety of tropical fruits. As part of a guided tour, it is even possible to taste several of the fruits grown there.
When booking a hired car, you should definitely allow enough time to visit the magnificent viewpoint Mirador del Santo. The beautiful viewpoint is located on the rocky slopes of the famous natural monument Lomo del Carretón barranco de Taguluche. Climbing up the huge slopes, that is, around the gorge, there is a hamlet with the same name. From the viewpoint you can enjoy a spectacular view over the sea, the city and the beautiful landscape.
Who travels by car through Spain or La Gomera, respectively, should also definitely plan a hike to the summit of the famous table mountain "La Fortaleza de Chipude". The mountain is a volcanic vent that has long since cooled. Its soft surrounding rock has already been removed by erosion, so that today "only" the hard contents of thevolcano remain in the form of the mesa. La Fortaleza de Chipude is protected as a so-called "Monumento Natural". However, it is possible to climb its summit. From there you can enjoy a phenomenal panoramic view over the beautiful island of La Gomera. If the weather is favorable, even the two neighboring islands El Hierro and La Palma can be seen on a clear day.
With the help of a hired car you can quickly and easily reach the place Agalán. There is a dragon tree, which is considered the oldest of its kind within La Gomera. The dragon tree can be found in the Garajonay National Park, between the two towns of Alajero and Imada, in the Barranco de Tajonaje gorge. From a botanical point of view, by the way, it is not a tree at all, but a lily plant. The dragon tree blooms only every 15 years and subsequently bears magnificent fruits of an orange-yellow colour. The tree, also known as "Drago", was considered sacred by the Guanches in earlier times: the red resin was said to have healing powers. Because of this, the sap of the dragon tree was also used to make ointments and medicines and was used to mummify the dead. It is reported that on Tenerife there should have been complete forests of dragon trees until the 15th century.
