The Thessaly Region, located in central Greece, is a destination that combines natural beauty, history, and adventure. With both Mount Olympus and a beautiful coastline on the Aegean Sea, Thessaly offers a diverse landscape that is sure to captivate you.
Remember to keep to the right-hand side when driving, as opposed to the UK where you would drive on the left. The general speed limit on Greek motorways is 120km/h, on open roads it's 90km/h, and in built-up areas, the limit is 50km/h.
For the winding mountain roads, a compact car is easier to handle. However, if you're planning a beach trip or city discovery, a comfortable saloon or a dynamic SUV would be an excellent choice.
Greece is famous for its ancient ruins and Thessaly is no exception. Be sure to check out the astonishing Meteora Monasteries, the Archaeological Site of Delphi or the old district of Larissa.

Thessaly hosts several festivals throughout the year. In spring, the Anthichasia Festival celebrates the area's rich floral and fauna. The summer brings the Olympus Festival with its theatre, dance and music performances.
