Driving Rules and Regulations

Driving in Mexico is a different experience from driving in the UK; not only do Mexicans drive on the right side of the road, the signs are also in Spanish. Seatbelts are mandatory for all passengers, and using mobile phones while driving is prohibited.

Speed Limit and Parking

Speed limits are clearly marked and usually range from 60 km/h in urban areas to 100 km/h on rural roads. Be aware of traffic wardens who monitor for speeding. Parking in Puerto Vallarta can be tricky during peak tourist season so plan your parking in advance or use one of the many paid lots for guaranteed space.

Currency

The currency in use in Mexico is the Mexican Peso (MXN). While credit cards are widely accepted, cash is preferred in smaller establishments and more remote areas.
