The Pitt-Greenville Airport (PGV), located just 3 miles (nearly 5 km, for those of us used to the metric system) from the Central Business District of Greenville, is a public airport in Pitt County, North Carolina.
Once you have landed in North Carolina, picking a rental car directly from the airport is a terrific idea. With a range of car rental stations located at the airport itself, you have the option to choose from a variety of vehicles to suit your needs.
Note, North Carolina drives on the right-hand side of the road, as opposed to left-hand side driving as in the UK. Ensure you're comfortable with this change before you hit the road.
There are several gas stations (petrol stations) near the airport, ensuring you're never too far from a refuel point. Remember, fuel prices are cheaper in the US than in the UK, thanks to lower tax rates, so driving around is certainly affordable.
Greenville is well connected to other parts of the state. The airport is located close to the US Route 264, which provides easy access to travel in either direction. The city is a comfortable drive to the beaches of the Atlantic to the east, the city of Raleigh to the west, and is a great starting point to explore North Carolina.
The climate in Greenville is subtropical, which means you can expect hot summers and mild winters. Make sure to pack your wardrobe accordingly. The US Dollar is the local currency, so remember to check the latest exchange rates before your trip.
Whilst Greenville itself offers a charming Southern experience, there are several other nearby cities worth visiting.
We hope this guide helps you plan your exciting journey. Happy travels!
