With its enchanting cobbled streets and traditional Cycladic architecture, Naousa is very pedestrian-friendly. However, hiring a car can provide an easy way to access the more remote beaches and surrounding towns. We recommend opting for a small hatchback or a saloon car for easy maneuverability and comfortable journeys.
Driving in Paros offers an exciting experience. Note though, that right-hand driving applies here, opposite to the UK. The speed limit in built-up areas is usually 50 km/hr, while on rural roads, it's generally 90 km/hr. Be aware too that seat belts are obligatory while mobile-phone use while driving is strictly prohibited.
Most hotels provide free parking. Outside of this, street parking is common although during peak season spaces might be scarce. There are also several public car parks available around the town.
Remember that Greeks drive on the right side of the road, unlike in the UK where driving is on the left. Also, driver’s licenses from the UK are valid in Greece.
