The airport offers a variety of car rental services. Companies such as Hertz, Avis, and Budget have desks at the terminal. Remember to drive on the right-hand side of the road, a change from UK roads.
If you're not planning on off-road adventures in the Misiones Province, a standard or economy class car should do the trick. For more rugged terrain, opt for a 4x4.
Fuel stations aren't a problem. You'll find plenty on your way into Posadas, with the nearest one just 5 minutes from the airport. Note that the fuel prices may differ from UK, as they vary based on global oil prices and Argentine policy.
The airport is well connected with National Route 12 and Route 105, providing direct access to Posadas and surrounding cities. English isn't widely spoken, so a good phrase book or translation app could be handy.
Unlike the unpredictable British weather, the Misiones Province offers a subtropical climate with a distinct wet and dry season. Argentina uses the Argentine Peso (ARS), and ATMs at the airport and in the city dispense pesos. Remember, the Pound Sterling is generally stronger than the Peso, so your holiday money may go further than you think.
Beyond Posadas, the Misiones Province is home to the world-famous Iguazu Falls, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. There's also the provincial capital, Posadas, with its charming riverfront and vibrant nightlife.
Happy travels!
