Jeju International Airport is the second-largest airport in South Korea. It's conveniently situated just close to Jeju city, which makes it an excellent starting point for your holiday. Here's what you can expect when you land.
The airport has multiple car rental agencies, meaning you've got options. South Korea drives on the right side of the road, opposite to the UK, so you might prefer an automatic vehicle. Whilst Jeju Island offers public transportation, having a rental car gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace.
South Korea has an excellent road network. Major roads on Jeju Island are dual carriageways with a speed limit of 80-100km/h. Urban areas have a lower speed limit of 40-60km/h. Road signs are in Korean and English, but we recommend using a GPS for easy navigation.
Jeju International Airport is well-equipped with a range of amenities for travellers such as currency exchange services, food options, and shopping outlets.
In case you are looking for a last-minute flight change, Jeju International Airport has regular flights to all major South Korean cities, and it offers several daily flights to China, Japan, and Taiwan.
Plan your journey ahead by marking a petrol station near the airport. Luckily, there are two within a 5 km radius from the airport, along roads 1132 and 1100.
Once you've got your rental car, the adventure can truly begin.
Jeju's climate is mild, and it can be visited any time of the year. Enjoy a slight breeze in the British-like weather!
The local currency is the Korean Won (₩). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's good to have some cash for smaller establishments.
Jeju island is brimming with exciting activities and locations. Explore the Manjanggul Cave, Cheonjiyeon Waterfall or the beautiful Hallasan National Park. Head to Jeju city and Seogwipo city for a slice of urban life.
