Petrol stations are not as widespread as they are in the UK, it’s a good idea to fill up the tank whenever you can. Heading south from the airport, the A1 highway will lead you to Gaborone, the capital of Botswana, within 5-6 hours.
The official currency in Botswana is the Pula (BWP). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, but some small vendors and remote locations may only accept cash. It can be beneficial to keep a small amount of local currency on you.
