While in El Nido, having your private vehicle, such as a rented car, adds to the convenience, especially when you want to explore beyond the town. Please be aware, unlike in the UK, traffic drives on the right-hand side in the Philippines.
The usual speed limits are: 80km/h on expressways, 40km/h on national roads, and 20km/h in school zones and residential areas which is different from the UK's typical 30, 60, 70 mph system. Always wear seat belts and avoid using your mobile phone while driving.

Take the coastal road trip from El Nido town to Nacpan Beach, considered amongst the world's most beautiful beaches. Or drive to the nearby Sibaltan village for a quiet beach getaway and glimpses of local life.
While some of El Nido's beaches such as Marimegmeg Beach are easily accessible by car, others like Seven Commandos Beach can only be reached by boat.
El Nido town, though small, is bustling with energy. The people here are friendly and welcoming to tourists. English is widely spoken and understood, so you'll have no trouble communicating.
The nearest airport to El Nido is the El Nido Airport, just a short drive from the town. There's also a port that services boat trips to and from Coron and Port Barton.
El Nido enjoys a tropical climate with a dry season from November to May, followed by the rainy season. If you're planning a trip, the dry season is the optimal time to visit compared to UK's cold and often rainy climate during these months.
