Tucked away in the Eastern European domain, Dnipropetrovsk International Airport is the primary airport serving Dnipro, the fourth-largest city in Ukraine. Remember, the name might sound a bit tricky, so for locals, feel free to keep it simple with 'Dnipro'.
The airport is around 15km southeast of the city center and only a 20-minute drive via E105. It's well-connected through public transport, including buses and taxis but choosing a car rental can give you more freedom and flexibility on your trip.
Upon your arrival, you'll find several car rental companies at the airport such as Sixt, Europcar, and Budget. However, for a stress-free experience, we recommend pre-booking a car online.
You won't struggle to find a place to top up your tank in Dnipro. There is a network of petrol stations in and around the city, with WOG, OKKO, and Shell being amongst the most popular.
The local currency in Ukraine is the Hryvnia (UAH). Credit cards are widely accepted, but cash is preferred in some small establishments. Remember to inform your bank ahead of your travels to avoid any unexpected card blockages.
Dnipro features a humid continental climate, quite different than Britain's marine climate. It's warmer in the summer (around 32°C in July) and colder in the winter, with average lows of -8°C in January. A good rule of thumb: pack layers!
Why limit your holiday to one city when you can explore more? Zaporizhia, known for its Island of Khortytsia, is just an hour's drive from Dnipro. Or drive three hours to the west and you'll find yourself in the beautiful city of Poltava.
Drive off into your Eastern European adventure from Dnipropetrovsk International Airport today!
