Those accustomed to driving on the left will need to adjust as Serbia drives on the right-hand side of the road. Keep in mind that you must be 18 years old to drive, but you need to be at least 21 with a full driving licence to rent a car.
Unlike the standard 30mph limit in urban areas of the UK, Belgrade has a slight increase with an urban limit of 50km/h (31mph). Highway limits range between 80 and 120km/h (50-75mph). Don’t forget speed is measured in kilometres in Serbia, not miles.
Belgrade utilises a zone-based parking system. Zone colours dictate time limits and fees so keep an eye out for colour-coded signs and pay stations. On-street parking is pretty available throughout the city, but there are also numerous car parks for longer stays.
