Tripoli is located in the north of the country and is the second largest city in Lebanon. You can truly find a melting pot of many cultures and religions here. The main terminal includes most of the duty-free stores, some other stores, a restaurant and the lounges. The main terminal has four levels, including the first floor, which contains the arrivals area, as well as a duty-free store for arriving passengers next to baggage claim. The public area of the main terminal has the usual waiting areas, various cafes and restaurant. Level 2 has the departure area, security checkpoint and check-in. On level 3 you will find the lounges of the individual airlines. In addition, there are prayer rooms here as well as a restaurant with a beautiful view of the runway. Level 4 is not open to the public or passengers and primarily houses the airport offices.
The terminal at Beirut Airport consists of two buildings, the east and west wings, connected by the main terminal, forming a U-shaped building. The modern terminal consists of 23 gates, 21 of which have direct access to the aircraft. Smoking is prohibited in almost all areas within the terminal, with a few exceptions.

The airport has all the typical facilities for travelers, including duty-free stores, cafes, restaurants, banks, post office, prayer rooms and a tourist information center. There is Wi-Fi throughout the airport, which is free for the first 30 minutes of use. The airport has three lounges for premium passengers, all located on the mezzanine level of the main terminal, above the duty-free area, in the departures area. There is also a café in the east and west wings of the departures area, just after passing through customs. Additional restaurants and cafes are scheduled to open in the near future. The recently revamped duty-free area features a large retail area, including two stores in the arrivals area. All passenger purchases are exempt from the usual taxes and offer a good price and savings compared to the domestic price.
A cab service is available at the airport. certified cabs wait next to the terminal at the exit of the arrivals area and are recognizable by the airport logo on the side. Since these cabs are regulated by the airport operator, they have a uniform and official fare. Regular cabs are also available, but their fare is subject to negotiation.
Visitors to Lebanon must have a valid passport and a Lebanese visa. Visas are provided by Lebanese diplomatic missions abroad. Tourists from the U.S., European and some Arab countries can obtain visas on arrival at the airport or a Lebanese border.
Inspection of baggage is quick and efficient. All personal items usually carried are exempt from customs.

The airport is used by many international airlines as well as the national carrier Middle East Airlines.
