Is there any better way to explore Albstadt than with a rental car? We reckon not. Typically in Germany, cars are driven on the right side of the road, which may be different than what you're used to in the UK.
Germany has strict regulations regarding car insurance, it’s mandatory and often included in your rental agreement. While driving, it’s important to adhere to the speed limit, which is often 50km/h in urban areas and 100km/h outside it. However, some parts of the Autobahn have no speed limit but comes with an advisory limit of 130km/h.
Albstadt is relatively straightforward when it comes to parking. In most areas of the city, you'll find both street parking and parking garages (called 'Parkhaus'). Do remember that the city centre operates 'Parking Management System', meaning parking spaces are subject to fees during certain hours, and parking discs are required.
Albstadt's location amongst nature makes it a great place for outdoor activities. The town has well-marked hiking trails, and lush parks like the Tiergarten park. For history buffs, the Stadt Museum is a trove of local history and culture. Or head to the 'Hangende Stein', a massive rock formation, offering panoramic views of the city.
Similar to the UK, Albstadt also experiences a temperate seasonal climate, meaning it has four distinct seasons. Summers (June to August) are warm and perfect for outdoor activities.
Keep in mind that in Germany, the Euro (€) is the official currency, not the Pound (£). Credit cards are accepted nearly everywhere, but it's always good to have some cash for smaller establishments.
